Kihei is a sunny coastal area located on the Southwest side of the island of Maui. With over six miles of gorgeous beaches, Kihei is a top destination for many travelers. Beaches:

All of these beaches offer views of the West Maui Mountains, the island of Lanai, the island of Kaho’olawe, Molokini crater. These beaches are also the best place to sit back and watch the Maui Sun drop behind the Pacific Ocean for a perfect Maui sunset.
Shopping in Kihei:
Kihei has many options for shopping from groceries to clothing to souvenirs. There are three grocery stores located in central Kihei: Safeway, Times Supermarket and Foodland.
Surf shops in the area sell surf apparel and several boutiques carry an assortment of clothing. You are sure to find something to fit your needs.
Looking for something to send home to let your family and friends know how much fun you’re having? Or how about something that will remind you of your great time on Maui? Kihei has many souvenir shops that will ensure that you find the perfect keep sake to take home wit you. Kalama Village shopping center is a large open market with vendors who sell a wide assortment of goods from the island. There are also many shops that sell souvenirs along South Kihei Road.

Activities:
There is an activity for everyone in Kihei. Surf lessons should be at the top of everyone’s list, and there are several vendors down at the Cove Park that will ensure that you catch your first wave. Test your balance with Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Maui’s hottest water sport. Snorkel rentals are on every corner, and they will be able to direct you to popular snorkel spots. If snorkeling with fish is not for you, then you can always lie out on the beach and enjoy the sun.
Several charter boats run out of Kihei Boat Ramp daily. They offer excursions such as Whale watching, snorkel cruises, sunset cruises, diving expeditions, and fishing trips.
